Although I am for a dog park in the area (Horner Park or elsewhere), there were a number of interesting questions and concerns brought up at last nights meeting (Jan 17th 33rd Ward Meeting). With these questions in mind, are there other dog park projects that have information that could possibly answer some of these questions? As this isn't the first dog park in Chicago, or the country, there has to be a wealth of data out there that could answer questions such as environmental aspects, affects to the community, infrastructure modification and the ramification to existing plant/tree structure. I understand that studies of this nature are "site specific", but they can at least provide some education for those posing the initial questions.
ReplyDeletePlease keep up the good work and I look forward to participating in future meetings.
We'll ask if people who are involved in other dog parks in Chicago can attend the next meeting. Good idea!
